Double bass and Viola da gamba


Claudio Gasparoni double bassist, violagambista and director - has achieved very young and with honours top of the teaching bass at the Conservatory B. Marcello in Venice, also improving in music chamber and orchestral technique. Winner of several national competitions for teachers conductor, he was the first bass of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. He is director and founder of successful early music groups and chamber ensembles such as: I Musici Serenissima, Camerata Antiqua, I Musici Veneti, I Cameristi di Venezia and is also a member of prestigious orchestras such as: Virtuosi Italiani, Accademia I Filarmonici, Wiener Barochsolisten, Capella Academy Wien, I Solisti Veneti. He has participated for years at the Venice Biennale Music by running the first World contemporary authors: Maderna, Stockhousen, Berio, Donatoni, Petrassi, Sciarrino, Ligeti, Boulez, Cage, Bussotti, Manzoni and has been directed on several occasions from Muti, Abbado, Celibidache, Sawalisch, Mehta, Bhom, Ansermet, Pretre, Pesko, Maag, Maazel, Oren, Scimone, Sinopoli, Masur. He has worked with artists of international renown: Ughi, Accardo, Mintz Fourth, Carmignola, Brunello, Amoyal, Canino, Ricciarelli, Gasdia, Brandis, Biondi, La Scola, Dindo, Fabbriciani, Badura-Skoda, Argherich, Ballista, Dreyfus, Melkus . He has participated in productions with the New York City Ballet, Ballet of the twentieth century „Bejart“. Always he was interested to expand in a repertoire of various kinds, he has often worked with: Korea, Bregović, Jarret, Centazzo, Battiato, and he has participated in theatrical and musical productions with Albertazzi, Well, Proclener, Gassmann. He recorded for German Grammophone, Arcadia, EMI, Cactus, Verany, Claves, Fonit-Cetra and performed con16 certs, recordings and direct radio-television in Italy, the United States, Japan, Australia, Israel, Iran, Turkey, England, Spain, Germany, Austria, Holland, Algeria, Tunisia, Belgium, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. He is considered one of the most famous and established Italian double bassists and violagambists, he plays an intense activity concert that led him to perform in major theaters and international music festival. In his long career as a teacher, he has tought to the Conservatories in Udine, Trieste, Vicenza, Padua. He has the chair of bass at the Conservatory B. Marcello in Venice, and plays courses, master-classes and seminars. He is an important artistic director of Music Festival in Italy and abroad. Numerous awards he has been awarded during his long and important concert career.
